Your BSR practitioner will make three initial appointments over a two week period. It is important that you attend all three appointments as BSR is a process. The first appointment will last approximately 1hour with follow-ups lasting about 30 minutes.

What happens in an appointment?
During your first appointment the practitioner takes a detailed case history. The specially designed couch is used to transfer the fully clothed client to a lying position. The client stands against the bed and is gradually lowered in one smooth action, minimizing any painful and unnecessary movement. It is often necessary to lower a person slowly in the case of a severe lower back problem. The design of the bed also enables those who use a wheelchair, and can bare weight, to transfer comfortably while the tests and releases are carried out. Certain areas may feel quite sensitive, but many people find the releases very relaxing. Once located, the tension or ‘body stress’ is “released” using a gentle but definite pressure.
Releasing is often rapid, but if the stress has been stored for a long time, more releases may be needed. This is because the tight, protective layers of muscle relax back to their normal state by degrees. After the releases, your practitioner will give you feedback on their findings, simple self-help techniques are suggested and advice is given on the importance of good posture and correct exercising.
